My name is Bashar Hmoud. I am a board certified physician specializing in gastroenterology, which focuses on the digestive system.

My journey started with medical training at the University of Texas Medical Branch. After completing my internal medicine training  I spent a year as an assistant professor and chief medical resident. During that time, I had an experience with administrative and clinical roles, while simultaneously working on research in the field of gastroenterology. It was then my passion had became clear, I later joined the gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship at the University of Texas Medical Branch. The years I spent during my training were some of the best. It gave me experience and knowledge to various interesting but challenging cases and procedures helping form the physician I am today.

Once I completed my education, my wife and I decided to move to Michigan to be closer to our family. After settling into our new state, I decided it was time to work on my professional career. I started my own gastroenterology practice. I wanted Advanced Digestive Care to represent what I value most in a medical practice. Patient-physician relationship, honesty, trust and overall excellent patient care.
